Has the NDP BC Governments Short Term Rental Legislation Impacted the Eagles Nest B&B?

You may have been wondering if the looming BC NDP legislation re: short term rentals is affecting our Peachland Eagles Nest B&B?

In a word, yes.

The 3-bedroom two bath house next-door called  “The Orchard House” is impacted. It is a separate title thus subject to these new rules. The NDP Government’s new legislation requires a minimum rental period of 90 days. This means I will no longer be able to offer accommodations to traveling nurses, doctors, or folks with short term contracts in the area. The detached home next door is popular accommodations for families, wedding parties, or groups over 2 persons. This building is also popular with traveling professionals.

Peachland’s population is under 10,000 therefore can opt out of this legislation. I am trying to convince the town council to opt out, but they are leaning toward it. If you want to read my full rant, please email me at murray@1eaglesnest.ca.

The Orchard House is currently rented from March 23rd to October 31st. If you want to hang out in the Okanagan for a mild winter let me know.

We still have our lovely one bedroom suites The Treehouse and The Blue Horizon. They are booking up fast for the 2024 season.

They both have private entrances and decks as well as full kitchens and laundry. We also have discounts for longer term bookings. To check out our rates please email me at murray@1eaglesnest.ca or click “Book Now”.

All the best.
