Things To Do Around The Nest

Okanagan Life

Peachland

Peachland is a small and charming lakefront town with a range of great little restaurants and bistros, 2 pubs, 2 marinas, neat little shops, lovely level beaches, Sunday Farmer & Craft Markets at Heritage Park… along with great golf courses, vineyards, scenic hikes, and water/boating activities. There are community events in the summer months such a concerts, arts & crafts shows and antique car shows and so much more.

Summerland

Just off Highway 97 South, this Tudor style town centre is the home to little antique shops, art galleries, local wine shops, character restaurants and coffee shops, and the regular fare. It is situated in a flat area above Okanagan Lake with fertile valleys (this mean lots of vineyards and orchards!) defined by forested ridges. Giant’s Head Mountain (a great little hike with beautiful views from the top) is an extinct volcano which dominates the skyline.

People come to Summerland to buy fruit from local farms, taste the vintages of Bottleneck Drive wineries, ride the Kettle Valley Steam Railway (to visit some of the vineyards!), see the work of artists in galleries and studios, play golf, and to make the most of the town’s gardens and parks with hiking, cycling, water activities and wildlife viewing.
