Snowshoeing and Skiing in the Peachland Area
Not only is Peachland, BC blessed with a wonderful summer season but a beautiful winter as well. It is a perfect place to visit for winter adventure. After your adventure you can return to Peachland to a great dinner at the local restaurants, a glass of fine local wine and a cozy night at the Peachland Eagles Nest B&B which caters to winter adventure guests as well.
There are so many winter opportunities to enjoy in the area. Some are right out the back door of the B&B as well as world class downhill skiing within a relaxing hour’s drive. It is a time to enjoy another season and take advantage of winter prices.

Our neighbour, Chris King, is an avid outdoorsman. Chris has spent his career building roads in the bush. Over the past years he was mainly responsible for building the Gladstone Trail here in Peachland and was given a Provincial award for his efforts. Chris is out every day hiking, skiing or mountain biking. Chris is a good neighbour and fun to be around.

West Kelowna
There are some excellent snowshoeing and X-country skiing in West Kelowna, 15 minutes north of the Peachland Eagles Nest B&B.

Telemark Nordic Club, West Kelowna
In the winter, Telemark is a popular area in the central Okanagan to go cross-country skiing and snowshoeing just 20 minutes from Peachland. Rentals are available at the ski chalet. There are several different trails anywhere in length up to 15 kms. The snowshoe trails wind through the forest and give you a sense of adventure as well as the peace and quiet of the forest. Be aware as you may encounter many types of wildlife.
Nickel Plate Nordic Centre – Penticton
Nickel Plate Nordic Centre is nestled in the mountains west of Penticton (1 hr. and 10 minutes for the Peachland eagles Nest B&B). The facility boasts 56 km of groomed cross country ski trails (classic and skate) and 16 km of snowshoe trails. On site you will find a 4000 square foot lodge with kitchen facilities, heated washrooms, a new wax shed, and a rental storage shed. Both yearly memberships and day use passes are available to enjoy the splendid mountain views and snow.
Skiing at Nickel Plate during the winter months allows for fresh air and an escape to sunshine, alleviating seasonal blues. At 6000 feet elevation, you enjoy one of the longest ski seasons in BC. The social environment is relaxed and friendly and can be enjoyed on the trails or within the cabin in front of the fire.
This is some of the best cross-country skiing my wife, Valerie, and I have experienced just one hour from Peachland Eagles Nest B&B.
